Mark Twain Riesling |

The Chemung County Chamber of Commerce approached us with the proposition of a special label wine to commemorate the 2010 Twain Celebration. We were thrilled and we thank artist Brandi Smith for this remarkable label. Riesling from Glenora Wine Cellars has fresh fruit aromas suggestive of apricots and peaches. The luscious semi-dry finish is balanced by the natural acidity characteristics of the Finger Lakes vineyards. The Riesling is a grape variety which is ideally suited to the Finger Lakes Region. Our soil types and cool growing season mature the grape slowly, producing fresh, bright fruit, floral aromas and flavors reminiscent of nectarines and honey. Natural acidity and lingering grape sugar are balanced in the fresh semi-sweet finish. Our Riesling is enjoyable by itself, as an aperitif or with a variety of foods including fruits, cheeses and most summer salads. |
